Dr. Sudesh Rani Dilawari

Dr. Sudesh Rani Dilawari is a distinguished academic and journalist with a PhD in Telecommunications from Ohio University, USA, and an MA and MPhil in Sociology from Punjab University, Chandigarh. The first woman correspondent for All India Radio, she earned international acclaim for her trailblazing work in media, including interviews on the BBC’s Asian Programme in 1984 and Women’s Hour. Dr. Dilawari also received the prestigious Voice of America Fellowship in 1988 and the PEO Peace Fellowship in 1989. She has actively supported community empowerment through her work with the Scottish Asian Association Committee in Glasgow, a voluntary organization dedicated to supporting Asian communities in Scotland.
